Otis Ashmore (1853-1934) was born in Lincoln County, Georgia, on March 6. He was an educator and scientist and Superintendent of Schools of Chatham County, Georgia, from 1896 until 1916, Ashmore also made the astronomical calculations for Grier's Almanac, 1882-1932.
