Tim Sawyer presents 147 chess games that he found interesting during 2017. He gives his introductions, commentary, and evaluations. This is a combination of recent grandmaster games, as well as games players sent to him, and some of the author's postal chess contests from long ago. Chess engine analysis shows a few key points where players could have improved. The games are divided by openings which include Flank Openings, Birds Opening, Dutch Defence, Alekhine Defence, Pirc Defence, Caro-Kann Defence, Sicilian Defence, French Defence, Open Games, Ruy Lopez, London System, Queen Pawn Games, Slav Defence, Queens Gambit, Nimzo-Indian Defence, Gruenfeld Defence, and Kings Indian Defence. This book does not include the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit. That opening gets its own separate books. The author provides his experience with a variety of chess situations. He looks for winning ideas and shares his memories of chess stories of the past. There are no diagrams in this book. You may pick up some ideas that help you win more games. Stay excited. Have fun playing chess! Less
