The Bhagavad Gita is a foundational scriptural book for Hinduism. It consists of 700 verses written in Sanskrit, and details the various paths to spiritual realization. It is constructed as a dialog between Lord Krishna and his friend Prince Arjuna, when the latter wishes to withdraw from the field of battle.In this book, the author has provided a literal translation of the Bhagavad Gita into an English poetical rendering, in a meter equivalent to the original work. This meter is called the Shloka Meter which brings beauty to the original Sanskrit work.
