James, beginning his sophomore year of college, finds himself drawn into a magical multi world fight after saving a strange man in downtown Anchorage by use of a can of pepper spray. Juggling his thoughts on the existence of magic and the fact that he doesn’t want to miss his date with his new girlfriend James must decide what he believes. Should he believe in a long lost invisible door to another world? Should he believe something evil has come through? To him it all sounds a bit melodramatic, but when multiple attempts are made on his life and the strange man magically fills the gas tank in his Geo he decides to give it all the benefit of the doubt. Throughout encounters with men throwing lightning bolts and a professor sending students to kill him in an Alaskan pass James must come to grips with what he believes. In the end will his belief that there really is a difference between right and wrong be enough to stop a crazed professor and a darkness that grows stronger with each death?
