A poetry chapbook from newly-published poet and writer Nikki Friedman. This chapbook explores the themes surrounding strong emotions, including love and lust (and sexuality), anxiety, depression, and recovery. In true free-verse style, Friedman uses both traditional poetry techniques and formats as well as experimenting with the space she's given and the words she chooses. EMOTION WORDS is cathartic and intimate, a glance into one person's mind. At the same time, each poem can be universalized to a greater context, and everyone can find something they relate to in one way or another. In EMOTION WORDS, Friedman brings together the story of one girl and the story of what it means to be a human person struggling to make life work, and at the end of the day, it gives hope that we can all come out the other side better than where we entered.
