Full Circle is a story told in words and songs about an age-old issue of abandonment of those too weak and slow to carry their share of the work. In hard times when the survival of the group is in danger those not fully contributing could not be supported without endangering the whole group. Hard decisions had to be made and many were abandoned so the group could survive. The times were hard and the people near starvation when an omen of dead ravens led to sick and dying children. The Chief is forced to make a horrible decision and tells the people they must leave quickly leaving the two slow ones behind. Many cultures have legends of how those abandoned ended up not only surviving but contributing to the rescue of their own people who had abandoned them. Full Circle is such a story, and helps remind us of the value of all people despite age and infirmity to society. This lesson is as true today as in days past. Less
