Though the term "boy band" wasn't coined until the 1990s, groups like The Monkees and The Jackson Five were making fans swoon decades before. An international phenomenon, boy bands hit their peak in the U.S. following the commercial success of New Kids On the Block and still have some lingering popularity today with groups like the Jonas Brothers. This book looks at the development of the "boy band" category, groups of the 1950s and 1960s that were precursor to the 1990s boom and how Southeast Asia is still a popular spot to be part of a boy band. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books.
