The hearings of the House Un-American Activities Committee, conducted by Senator Joseph McCarthy, were one of the most pernicious attacks on the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. This book endeavors to examine the lives of McCarthy and the Hollywood Ten, a group accused of affiliation with the Communist Party.
