Bringas is a novel published in 1884 by Benito Pérez Galdós , one of those that make up his great series of contemporary Spanish novels that, when almost entirely developed in scenarios of the capital of Spain , have literally generated the " Galdosian Madrid " , similar to the London of Dickens or the Paris of Balzac .  The novel, together with Dr. Centeno (1883) and Tormento (1884), closes a possible and discussed trilogy that takes place in the years before the 1868 Revolution. Some critics have pointed out the possibility that Galdós used the set to explain the similarity between those years and those of the Restoration , period during which he wrote the novel. Less
