This fourth installment of the Medici saga is starring Maria de Medici, first queen consort of France (1600-1610) and, later, representative of the throne in her son Luis’ name.
 
The story presents a strong and courageous woman with great talent for political strategy, forced to fight against an ambition for power by the aristocrats in order to safeguard the throne during a difficult period in France. The story revolves around the three most important figures in France at the time: Maria de Medici herself, Cardinal Richelieu, and King Louis XIII.
 
In chronological order, the novel tells the most important moments of Medici’s life, such as her arrival at the Louvre and her initial struggle with distrust from the French, thus achieving a constant tension between parallel plots that create great action just like in previous installments of the saga.
