Following the release of their 2017 debut, Californian rock outfit {|Movements|} took a few years to record a proper follow-up, taking inspiration from the various life changes that accompanied their mainstream breakthrough. Touching upon life, love, and mental health struggles, {|No Good Left to Give|} arrived in late 2020, a collection of urgent emo-rock confessionals cut with post-hardcore aggression. Packing an overwhelming amount of angst into a dozen tracks, the quartet balances the rousing (Moonlight Lines) with the comforting (Santiago Peak), filling the space between with plenty of midtempo contemplation. With producer {|Will Yip|} once again behind the boards, {|No Good Left to Give|} pushed them higher up the Billboard 200 and landed them in the Alternative Albums Top Ten. ~ Neil Z. Yeung Less
