North of 36 was adapted into a 1924 silent Western Drama film of the same name produced by Famous Players-Lasky and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film was directed by Irvin Willat and starred Jack Holt and Lois Wilson. This film was preserved in the Library of Congress in the 1970s and has been restored by that archive with a new screening of the restored film in the summer of 2011 in upstate New York.............. When a young woman inherits her father's cattle ranch, she must get the cattle to Abilene before a crooked state official steals her stock to gain control of her ranch.  Less
