Even though it can be caused by similar etiologies, they tend to follow different natural histories. Nearly 80% of acute pancreatitis (AP) cases are diagnosed to be a result of alcohol misuse and gallstone disease. This disease generally involves the unexpected onset of upper abdominal that is usually serious enough to warrant the patient into seeking immediate medical attention. Majorly, 10-25% cases of this disease are regarded as serious, leading to a related mortality rate of 7-30%. Treatment is conservative and comprises of basic medical support carried out by veteran teams, sometimes in ICUs. The occurrence of pancreatic infection must therefore be avoided. Less
