Prince Louie, Catherine's Son is the final episode of the Devil's Cave trilogy. Catherine's marriage to Charles had failed to unite France and England. Upon Edward's death, his arrogant son, Henry, charged that the neighboring regime across the channel usurped its power by claiming rightful ownership to colonies in the Caribbean, which had first been discovered by English explorers. Aside from this, Prince Louie, who was about to succeed Charles as King, had to resolve an impending issue that, if it were proven to be true, would morally disqualify him of being the legitimate heir to the throne of France. It plagued his conscience when he overheard during a dispute between Charles and a stranger's voice-he'd been fathered outside of wedlock by Jacques Lafitte who desperately sought to fulfill Catherine's wishes that Louie would one day be France's most noble and proud ruler.
