Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Social research refers to research conducted by social scientists. Social research methods may be divided into two broad categories: Quantitative designs which approach social phenomena through quantifiable evidence, and often rely on statistical analysis of many cases to create valid and reliable general claims; and Qualitative designs which emphasize understanding of social phenomena through direct observation, communication with participants, or analysis of texts, and may stress contextual and subjective accuracy over generality. This book studies quantitative and qualitative methods of social research including regression analysis, student's t-test, archives, and life histories. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge. Less
