Author clarifies what it means to be children of God... Bellingham, WA -- People working at a path toward salvation are wasting their time.  In her new book, The Road to Sanctification, Margaret Radisich Sleasman explains that becoming a child of God is not a continuous process, but a matter of accepting Christ as one's personal Savior. There are many sanctification books on the market, but The Road to Sanctification takes a different view by showing that we cannot do anything to be sanctified or holy, writes Sleasman.  Her study draws from Scripture to illustrate how this has already been done for us through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.  Those who are searching for the Lord, she writes, need only look to Christ, repent and believe.  For people who think doing good deeds is enough to redeem them, Sleasman advises:  You may be keeping your good and bad ledger in order, but you still are not going to make it through the gate, because the gate is Jesus Christ and Him only. The Road to Sanctification offers a candid discussion of three words:  holy, separate, and sanctify.  Sleasman reminds readers of Bible teachings that clearly detail how Jesus' death cleansed humans from sin.  If a person accepts Christ's gift of salvation, his or her sanctification is complete, they are made holy and are separated for God's work, she writes.  Sleasman also shares personal downfalls and periods of discouragement in her spiritual walk before she realized the simplicity of God's message.  She challenges readers to not just take her word for it, but to embark on their own careful study to find the truth. An inspiring read for pastors, Christians and anyone searching for answers to the simplicity and magnitude of Christ's work, The Road to Sanctification offers simple yet powerful guidelines on knowing where they stand as a child of God. Sleasman was born and raised in a Croatian Roman Catholic neighborhood.  Her grandparents were immigrants from the island of Vis, Croatia.  As a child, she lost her father to cancer, which shattered her faith in God.  She gave up on religion completely as a teenager.  Later in life, she suffered a devastating accident that hospitalized her for six weeks.  She then joined a nondenominational church and came to know the Lord at the age of 30.  Sleasman operated her own business of manufacturing and selling concrete lawn ornaments for 30 years.  She retired in 2000 and attended technical college, where she became a certified legal administrative assistant.  She has five children and seven grandchildren.  The Road to Sanctification is her first book, but she has published more than 75 issues of the Pacific Northwest Croatian Newsletter, a monthly historical chronicle of Croatians on the West Coast.
