Second Sexes is a collection of short stories that sketches the lives of five women who have come forward in their lives or in their deaths to speak for themselves.They belong to secondary role in this gender biased society.Emerging from different social echelons their fates meet at a certain point, their existence being women in this society. This collection brings together five women who fight for their rights and positions in this society and try to fly beyond the prescribed norms and regulations. They face cruelty, bigotry, and the atrocities of patriarchal reproval and seek validation throughout their life.
