                                                Sri Lanka has made admirable progress on several key gender equality indicators but there has also been complacency in the effort to address continuing gender inequalities. This publication examines gender issues in Sri Lanka from the perspective of education; energy; transport; and water and sanitation. It also provides insights into sector planning; government policies; legal frameworks and commitments; and institutional structures for promoting gender equality actions. The publication explores opportunities to consider in designing interventions for possible use by government, civil society, and development partners.
