African Americans are citizens or residents of the United States who have origins in any of the black populations of Africa. Most African Americans are the direct descendants of captive Africans who survived the slavery era within the boundaries of the present United States, although some are-or are descended from-immigrants from African, Caribbean, Central American or South American nations. This book studies the African American Diaspora including African American Vernacular English, Nova Scotian settlers, and the Krio Descendants Union.
Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge.
