In this book, Buddhist teachings are brought sensitively and entertainingly to life and intertwined with English culture and history. The Monk finds himself drawn more deeply in than he anticipated, leading to a radical change of plan. The central theme is how relationships impact and change us, and the possibility of finding the stability inside to enjoy them without any loss of comic sensitivity. Vicki Rice Weber studied English Literature and Social Science at Exeter College, Oxford University. She then trained as a psychotherapist and is completing a PhD in Tibetan Buddhist practices and psychotherapy. She lives in Jersey in the Channel Islands, where she lectures in Counselling and has a psychotherapy practice. Less
