“The Patron”Short storyByGreg HoeyPublished by SmashwordsIn the year of 2011-ish after having to relinquish my art studio because it was to be torn down for re-development I deposited 2-300 drawings of the figure at one of the safe deposit cages which were situated at the Cottesloe/Mosman Park Train Station.…much to my regret. For on returning a few days later they had all been taken along with other personal items kept. Was later to find out much to my consternation that this was all removed & disposed of by the staff who worked for an organisation called Trans Perth.A noxious Corporation it was too. I found this out when I took them to court over the matter and how with great reluctance and a very snide attitude its CEO had to come to terms with having to compensate me and my incidental losses. He along with his two female Corporate Lawyers who had argued rather passionately that I deserved nil. ‘Artists’ what do artists do for the economy? What could he possibly have of value, a few drawings on paper ‘Phwooff!?’
