This book is a legal practice guide (a practical how-to book for attorneys and other legal professionals) on how to help AWOL (absent without leave) soldiers get their legal situations resolved in the best way possible. The book includes not only instructional information and commentary, but also sample letters, forms and other documents that could be useful in the art of AWOL defense. About the Author: James M. Branum is a solo attorney in Oklahoma. He also serves as the Minister of Peace & Justice of Joy Mennonite Church in Oklahoma City and as the advising attorney of the Oklahoma Center for Conscience and Peace Research. He is a past chair of the Military Law Task Force of the National Lawyers Guild and a past board member of the GI Rights Network. He has represented hundreds of AWOL soldiers before military authorities and has spoken on military law topics in continuing legal education seminars in several states.
