Carl Lebrecht Udo Dammer (born January 8, 1860 in Apolda , † November 15, 1920 in Great Rambin in Kołobrzeg ) was a German botanist . His official botanical author abbreviation is " Dammer ".Udo Dammer was the eldest child of the chemist Otto Dammer . He worked from 1883 to 1886 as a curator at the Botanical Garden in Saint Petersburg and then studied botany in Berlin, where he was also (from 1887 to 1889) assistant to Nathanael Pringsheim . In 1888 he received his doctorate at the University of Freiburg; the title of his dissertation was contributions to the knowledge of the vegetative organs of Limnobium Stoloniferum Grisebach
