Introduce your students to the work of author Kevin Henkes with this teacher planning unit on the author and a selection of his work. Introduce the artistic and writing skills of Kevin Henkes through a study of several of his books: Chester's Way, Chrysanthemum, Julius, the Baby of the World, Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, Owen, Sheila Rae, the Brave, A Weekend with Wendell. Provide students with opportunities for written and artistic expression.
