Meet Jinny, the mail carrier for Little Bradmarsh, a very unusual profession for a woman in the time in which the story is set. Jinny's lively tongue annoyed him so much he called her "a minx", and thus these two entered on the long duel which could have only one ending. Jinny is a charming heroine, but her love story is only an excuse for a detailed picture of life in this particular section of rural England during the middle of the nineteenth century.
