All received their training in qualitative research methods from Dr. Barbara Burnaby, a former faculty in Adult Education Department and the Modern Language Centre at the OISE. Some of the authors are teachers/researchers in universities and community colleges, some work independently as research and evaluation specialists, and some are counselors assisting immigrant settlement. The book aims to showcase various types of qualitative approaches applied to diverse topics in multiple fields.
