The first in a fascinating and incredibly insightful three-volume series that explores not only the major issues that divide Americans today, but the history as to how many of these issues came to divide us. Volume I, Watching America Burn is a frank discussion about the complete, mind-numbing hypocrisy that is American politics today and a call to action for conservatives to stand up and reclaim our basic rights, such as the right to pursue our own paths to happiness, faith, family values, ethics, and values, as well as the right to defend ourselves – all free of governmental overreach and interference or the fear of reprisal and public shaming. I take pride in all of the incredible, amazing steps we have taken forward as a nation in the areas of acceptance, but I am aghast at how special rights and public shaming have crept into social norms.Watching America Burn culminates with the author's plea to launch into the next phase of evolution for this great country - a new, two-nation solution to set out the Conservative States of America and the Progressive States of America. The author argues that we have reached a point in our development where we are so divided that the only way to heal our nation and resolve the anger that exists so that we can move forward with civility is to create the two-nation solution that he wisely proposes in this series. This is the only practical solution to move forward as a nation and prevent another armed conflict, another civil war, from occurring. When liberals win power, they try to force a liberal agenda onto the masses which disenfranchises conservatives. Likewise, when conservatives win power, liberals feel alienated and resent the pushing of a conservative agenda on them. We have become focused on stacking courts, forcing the courts to decide key structural and moral issues, and enforcing specific agendas. Liberals want to over-regulate, but ignore or outwardly refuse to enforce those laws they disagree with. Conservatives believe it should be up to the individual to decide his or her best path to fulfillment. Liberals have accelerated the loss of autonomy and State's Rights. The two-nation solution is our best path forward. Come on this journey with the author, Shawn P. Carden and decide for yourself how we can restore our faith in America and preserve our place in history.
