A man surveyed all his earthly possessions one more time. His landlord has just given him an ultimatum: pay our owed rent or give-up your possessions. He was given three days. He was already laid-off at work and there was nothing again he could do. His two children continued to cry as his wife, their mother wailed. He has just three days and they would be homeless. Meanwhile, the landlord gave his men instructions to remove his door. When they left, he sat in a corner of the room and joined his family in weeping. He was known to pray but his steadfast faith was beginning to shake. He went to all his friends and church members to see if he could borrow money but each gave similar story. He cannot fault them for many of them have given him help in the past. With no one to blame or get any funds, he returned home to his family. He pleaded with his wife and children to only select few clothes and ignore the rest of their items. He still continued to pray, moan and fast before the Lord requesting for divine intervention. The landlord finally came around with his henchman and made them to leave with just the clothes on their backs and the children's school bags. He went to his church compound and pleaded with them to allow his family join others in the small homeless shelter. There was no space for him but his family could be integrated with other families who already call the dormitory-like shelter, home. In the night, he would sleep on the pavement. On those nights, he would silently pray and cry again. Two weeks in that vicinity and he was already thinking some horrible thoughts. Has God abandoned him or is there some evil bad-luck in his life that God was not forgiving him? Maybe his family was better off without him? Maybe he was the cause of their problems? He wept all night asking for forgiveness over and over again.
