'Fishery Development' is a concept for the promotion of culture fishery and the protection of capture fishery. To achieve the objectives of this concept, there is a need to collect information on hydrobiological condition of water in question, the biology of the species to be cultured and the interrelationships between the environment and the organisms. For the collection of data/information, the involvement of field workers, progressive fish farmers, scientists and the fishery departments is essential.
