Fundamentals of Road Design fills a gap in the existing literature, as there is currently no text that addresses the fundamental geometric concepts of urban and rural road design. Traffic behavior has changed significantly over the last two decades warranting newer methods for road design. Yet unlike the advances made in building, ship and aircraft design, road design is still carried out much as it was more than fifty years ago.
