The sinking of the French frigate "Medusa" is one of the most famous tragedies in the history of navigation. The "Medusa" had crossed a shoal in 1816 on their way from France to Senegal off the African coast and sank. Since the ship did not have enough lifeboats for all people on board, for parts of the crew any help came too late. This book vividly describes the experiences and incidents at the "Medusa" to save the ship and the crew during the fight immediately before it sank. This book is a reprint of the original from 1818.
