The attractive young cipher clerk, Corporal Tatiana Romanova, pretends to have fallen in love with Bond though she has in fact been sent to betray him. She seduces him with her obvious charms, and in addition promises to provide the British with the top-secret Spektor decoding device much coveted by MI6.
