Most of us have a financial philosophy whether we realize it or not. We are either savers, spenders, or some combination. We are either concerned about our credit score, barely check, or check occasionally. We are either averse to using credit, charge without regard or fall in the middle. For the next 21 days, we are going to analyze your financial habits to identify your financial philosophy and to ensure it aligns with what you want it to be. Often who we want to be and who we are out of alignment because of our behaviors. We have great intentions with our finances but the actions that we take cause us to live out of alignment. This misalignment frequently results in a failure to achieve goals and missed opportunities. Most of us desire to be debt-free, to pay all of our bills on time, to have a healthy emergency fund and to fully fund our retirement account but it seems that the harder we try, the more obstacles come our way. If that sounds familiar, you are in the right place. This book is designed for you to do some work every day for the next 21 days so that you have a plan to move forward when you have completed the exercises. It is not a comprehensive analysis but starts off with the basics. Once you have mastered these basic principles, you should plan to meet with a financial adviser to discuss the next steps in your financial plan.
